So I turned twenty-something just recently. One of the numerous downsides of being in a long distance relationship with your significant other is that you do not get to spend birthdays, Christmases, holidays and all those other special days together. But to look at it in a positive note, it is when you can get to know how far he can go to at least make you feel that that particular day is indeed special.
For September 2014, a not-so-surprise package came all the way from a coastal seaport city in the West. I've said goodbye to my teens a few years back but I had all the excuses to act like a giddy teen-age girl when I had the package in my hands. This made me add a few more items to my personal list of why I should be 112% convinced that this guy's a keeper.

A guy's a keeper when he knows your shoe size. He knows your size, the color of your choice, and something that you'd unhesitatingly buy for yourself. Okay, he must have measured your foot while you were asleep, peeked at the shoe size etched at the sole of your other shoes, or he has simply asked you. But men are not as meticulous or as detail-conscious as women are so it says a lot already when he gets you a pair that exactly fits! (Boo me ten times for not knowing his shoe size! But that's a secret! )
A guy's a keeper when he knows what would look beautiful on you. Not to mention that it must have taken great courage on his part to wander alone inside female territory awkwardly looking for an item that would look good on his girl.
He's a keeper when he constantly makes you giggly-giddy. Falling in love is easy but staying in love is another thing. It's the smallest of things that count the most as they spell a lot during the longer course of the relationship.
But beyond these things, he really is a keeper because he knows how to make you feel special notwithstanding the distance and despite the odds. For a relationship like this to work, more than the trust and patience being invested in the formula, is the extra effort needed to be added in the equation. The effects of gestures such as these get to be amplified because even the minutest of details matter tremendously.
Thank you thief!
